Limoges Hand Painted Signed Luc Cobalt & Gold Border Fish 9 1/2 Inch Plate F Antique scalloped edge dinner sized cabinet plate. Decorated with a very nicely painted fish in water with purple iris flowers and other purple and white flowers. The background is painted in shades of blue and peach. With a wide cobalt border with gold gilding around the scene and a gold encrusted geometric pattern along the very edge of the plate. Signed by the artist Luc.
Marked on the reverse Limoges France in green with a line above. I believe this is meant to be the PL Limoges France mark for La Porcelaine Limousine (I have a plate listed separately with this mark). Also marked M Redon in a red circle.
This is an overglaze decorating mark used by La Porcelaine Limousine between 1905 and the late 1930s. Has a chip to the back edge of the plate, but otherwise good condition with no chips or cracks. Measures approximately 9 1/2 inches wide. This is an antique and may have small in manufacture defects that do not affect the display of the piece.
