Marie De Medici Hand Painted Porcelain Plate Signed E C Darby. This painting is believed to be an early painting of Marie de' Medici. Marie de' Medici was Queen of France and Navarre as the second wife of King Henry IV of France of the House of Bourbon, and Regent of the Kingdom of France officially between 1610 and 1617 during the minority of her son, Louis XIII of France. The plate is believed to be Limoges as the painter EC Darby Painted for Limoges during the time period this plate was made, however we found this piece mounted in the felt lined frame and did not remove it as to not disturb the frame. This piece was found with several additional items from the time period and we will be listing them this week.
