Limoges Plates 6 Laviolette Portrait Scenic Gold Watteau Style. This listing is for 6 Limoges Plates: Porcelain made by Laviolette; and decorated by A. Shapely edges rimmed in gold; 3 plates studded with Pink Shells and 3 with Green Shells. A Gilt sponged effect is sprinkled about the gold scrolling frame. Within each frame is a couple and each vignette features an animal; three with doggies, two with a kitty and one with a goose on an ivory colored ground.

On the photos, the ground may appear to be different shades, but this is just the result of lighting conditions. All plates have the same color ivory ground.

Five of them are of different scenes, there is one double: gentleman standing to the left while watching a maid feed the doggie. One of those plates has a pink shell trim and the other has the green. Hand finished Purple Chrysanthemums bloom beneath each scene. Mark: Made by Laviolette and studio designed by A. The Laviolette mark is barely visible and blurry.

Condition: Used only for display. The bottom side support ring of one plates has some shallow nips. Please see photo of such. Doesn't compromise the physical integrity of the plate.

Each plate weighs approximately 15 ounces without packing materials. As they are considered to be part of the description. Please remember to scroll down to the end of the listing. As there are times I receive questions and they will be answered there.

So I have added an addendum to the description for. Something that I may have forgotten. They usually are antique or vintage. Can be a hundred or more years old and have been gently used. Edge wear on gold is to be considered as normal and the usual. Also, please remember that old glass. And porcelain were not manufactured with the sophisticated technology that we have today. Therefore there may be glaze pops. Black pin dots, and minor factory flaws. Or any descriptive term used when describing. The physical attributes of glass and porcelain are very, very subjective. What I may consider very good condition, someone else may disagree. Keeping this in mind, I will make every effort to objectively describe the item at hand. Approximate sizes and weights are always included in the description.
