Limoges Hand Painted Signed Courting Couple Maritime Scene Green & Gold Plate Nice porcelain dinner plate. Decorated with a central hand painted scene of two courting couples by the water with seagulls, a boat, and a bridge and tower in the background framed by gold gilding and a wide band of green. Has a band of gold floral encrustation along the inner rim of the plate and the edge, framing an ivory border with three hand painted maritime landscape scenes.

The scene is signed by the artist. Marked Thoedore Haviland France in green. Also marked Theodore Haviland Limoges France in red. This is an overglaze decorating mark used between 1903 and 1925.

Also marked Thedore Haviland Limoges in blue. Has some wear to the gilding, but otherwise good condition with no chips or cracks.

Measures approximately 10 1/8 inches wide. This is vintage and may have small in manufacture defects that do not effect the display of the piece.
