Limoges Bawo & Dotter Hand Colored Pink Rose & Gold 12 1/4 Charger C. 1900-1914

Very pretty porcelain charger with relief molded beading along the edge. This form is referred to as Pearl and Perle. Nicely decorated with large pink roses with gold gilt highlights to the leaves and outlines to the stems. The roses have hand colored white highlights. With an ivory background and heavy gold gilding along the edge.

This is signed on the front J. Maza and is marked hand painted on the reverse, though it is actually transfer decorated. This was a common practice on porcelain from this era. Also marked Elite L France in green. This is an underglaze whiteware mark used by Bawo & Dotter in Limoges France after circa 1900.

Also marked in red Elite Works Limoges France. This is an overglaze decorating mark used by Bawo & Dotter in Limoges France between 1900 and 1914. Has some wear to the gilding, but otherwise good condition with no chips or cracks. Measures approximately 12 1/4 inches wide. This is an antique and may have small in manufacture defects that do not effect the display of the piece.
