The color palette used is red, green, brown, yellow & blue on white w/gold. The rim of the cakeplate is trimmed in bright, bold gold. The gooseberries are nestled in a large number of green leaves.The rim is scalloped and embossed around the handles. CONDITION: While this decorative cakeplate is classified as used, its condition is superb. We can find no defects or damage. There are no chips, nicks, cracks, rubbings, scratches, crazing or hairlines. See the photos to judge for yourself.
DIMENSIONS: This cakeplate is 10 3/4" handle to handle and has a diameter of 9 7/8" with a height of 1 1/2 to the top of the handle. HISTORY/MARKS: Remy Delinieres and P. Guery established a pottery in the 1860's in Limoges, France. Delinieres became head of the company after 1879 and established a porcelain decorating shop in 1881 as part of the factory. In 1900, the company becomes Leon Bernardaud & Co.
