Haviland Limoges Hand Painted Fairy in Spiderweb & Finches Teapot C. 1876 1889
Beautifully adorned with a hand painted blonde fairy in a white dress lounging in a spiderweb, surrounded by a vine with green leaves and brown thorns. The other side of the teapot is decorated with a pair of green European finches, perched on a leafy sprig. Marked on the bottom H & Co L in green. This mark was used by Haviland in Limoges France between 1876 and 1889. The tea pot has a tight crack to the top of the lid that curves around one side of the handle. This crack appears to be glazed over in manufacture. There is quite a bit of wear to the gilding, but otherwise good condition with no post manufacture chips or cracks. Measures approximately 9 1/4 from spout to handle x 7 3/4 inches high to the top of the lid. This is an antique and may have small in manufacture defects that do not effect the display of the piece.
