C. 1876 Haviland Limoges France 8 3/8 Sea Life/Fish Luncheon Plates Hand Painted

  
Recent Coastal Virginia estate find. Offering a beautiful set of six, 8 3/8 hand painted luncheon plates on Haviland, Limoges Torse blanks. Each plate is unique and depicts a sea life scene with five of the six having a fist net design. Five of the six plates have the early Haviland Mark "D" underside stamp, which date these plate between 1876 and 1886. One plate does not have the Haviland mark, but is identical to the other five. All are in excellent, near prstine condition with no chips, cracks, stains, or crazing; extremely light to no evidence of use. The colors on each are soft, yet vibrant, the gold embellishments and trim are strong and complete, and the glaze has a nice sheen.
