RARE & BEAUTIFUL LIMOGES BOX GREEN BIBLE W/ CHERUB INSIDE. HAND PAINTED & SIGNED LIMOGES #6/250. Green and multicolor hand-painted Limoges porcelain Holy Bible trinket box with gilt accents throughout. Text scrimshaw motif at lid, cherub motif at interior and brand stamp at interior lid.

This is a genuine hand-painted French porcelain Limoges Box. From the heart of the city of Limoges, France.

Once the playthings of the wealthy, French Limoges trinket boxes were originally designed as snuff boxes to hold tobacco. These French Trinket Boxes later evolved to contain love letters, rings, jewelry and other precious gifts for special occasions and holidays.
