Antique Limoges Hand Painted Blue Carnation Flower & Gold Demitasse Cup & Saucer. Decorated in gold with Art Nouveau dark and light blue carnation flowers. The decoration is raised with the body carved away in lower relief.

Not sure how they achieved this technique, but I have never seen another cup like it. The background of the cup has a matte gilt finish where as the raised decoration is brightly gilt. From the color of the porcelain body I believe that this cup is most likely french in origin. Though this example is unmarked, I've also seen another example that had a Limoges decorator's mark.

Good condition with no chips or cracks. The cup measures approximately 3 1/8 inches wide including the handle x 2 1/4 inches tall. The saucer measures approximately 4 1/2 inches wide. This is an antique and may have small in manufacture defects that do not affect the display of the piece.
