This listing is for an antique, circa 1900, French Limoges porcelain set of 6 bouillon cups and saucers by Lewis Straus & Sons. The bouillon cups measure 2 inches or 12.7 cm deep and are 5 1/4 inches or 13.3 cm wide from handle to handle, the saucers are 5 1/2 inches or 14 cm in diameter. The porcelain has a raised molded design in the porcelain and the saucers have a slightly scalloped edge. The pieces are hand painted with pink and white roses, lush green foliage and is accented with heavy applied gold highlights. They are marked in green "LIMOGES FRANCE" and in a double circle "LS&S LIMOGES FRANCE" in red.
This is for Lewis Straus & Sons who exported porcelain from Austria and France in the 1890s to the 1920s. Please reference "Collector's Encyclopedia of Limoges Porcelain Third Edition" by Mark Frank Gaston page 278. The cups are in very good condition, 2 saucers have chips and and fleabites on the edges.
