Stunning Antique LIMOGES France Hand Painted Cabinet Plate for Mermod & Jaccard, St Louis. Features lovely green rims with gold floral filigree, scalloped heavy gilded edges, skillfully handpainted fish images in the center with floral details. The plate is signed by the artist PUVIS.

Condition: no cracks; chips or repairs noted. Minor wear to decorations and use related marks. Wear and minor scabs on the foot.

A spot with gilt loss top right on the gold trim. All imperfections correspond with age. Please see pictures for more details. Marked on the underside with Limoges France mark used on Limoges blanks around 1891.

It is also stamped with Mermod Jaccard St Louis mark. Mermod Jaccard was a prominent jeweler and reseller in St.

I believe that the plate was decorated specifically for sale at the store.
