Antique JPL Limoges France Hand Painted Chocolate Pot White Roses Signed EMILE
This is a gorgeous JPL Limoges France Chocolate Pot hand painted in beautiful and delicate white roses. The artist has signed the piece as "EMILE".
The chocolate pot bears the underglaze mark of the Jean Pouyat Factory (circa 1892), the overglaze decorating mark 8 of that factory (circa 1914), the scripted words "Hand Painted, " as well as the distinguishing serial number G 4256 which most likely refers to the mold or floral pattern. This chocolate pot stands 10.25 tall and has a double looped gold painted handle and finial. The background porcelain is a wonderful soft cream with beautiful overtones of mint green and lavender grays. Gorgeous hand painted Chiffon White Roses with soft yellow centers are nestled among tufts of large green foliage.A sweet pair of roses decorate the reverse side of the chocolate pot, as well as lid, and rest upon more green foliage. Overall condition of this beauty is excellent, Sterling quality, with the china painting very well preserved. Please message if you have any questions or if you would like additional photographs.
