CONDITION: There is a small chip glued in the rear the rim that is barely visible. In last photo, chip is greatly enlarged but in actuality, is difficult to see. This porcelain plate was produced in France by Haviland & Co. Limoges between 1876 and 1880.
It has two markings that indicate this period. The plate measures 9 inches in diameter. The rim is gently scalloped with 6 lobes. The center has a hand painted portrait of a charming, young woman of the 19th century.
She holds a portrait of her loved one in one hand and a rose in the other. The border is cream colored with tiny white. Light turquoise beads in the gilding. It is a warm, romantic theme and a rare find.
