1920s Porcelain Limousine 10 Cabinet Plates Limoges Embossed Shell VERY RARE

  

PL Porcelain Limousine Limoges Vintage Shell Shaped Luncheon Plates Set of 10. How these plates have survived intact for a hundred years with as much detail as they have is just mind blowing, but they have. Handmade and handpainted embossed shell shaped and reticulated plates - not many signs of use. We found no chips, cracks, crazing or even wear on the paints.

Note on the date of manufacture. They look more like 1800s plates, but they were also marked by Smith Ceramic Studios in Rochester NY. Smith Ceramic Studios is listed as an advertiser in a 1924 Rochester, NY High School yearbook named the Orient. There, they had an advertisement printed on page 159, I did not find ads for Smith Ceramic Studios further back than that or later for that matter, but that will suffice for now.
