T and V Limoges Ornate Dinner Plates Hand Painted Violets 1800's. Offering and price is for a set of 4 (four) dinner plates. They are a total of 12 dinner plates, or 3 (three) sets available. Tressemanes and Vogt (T&V Limoges) began producing high quality porcelain wares in Limoges, France in 1891 and did so until about 1907.
These were manufactured by T&V for Higgins and Seiter NY. The "Souvenir T&V Limoges France Depose" mark appears in green under glaze and the "Higgins & Seiter NW York" with "TV in a bell" appears in red under glaze.Plates have a smooth surfaced crisp white center decorated with hand painted violets. The rims are embossed, very sculptural, and scalloped. In contrast to the face of the plate, the rims are cream or ecru in color.
Please use the zoom to see all the beautiful details. Notice the heavy gold band that separates the rim from plate face. These are dinner plates and measure approximately 9.25 inches in diameter and are about 1 inch deep. Each plate weighs approximately one(1) pound. These are very rare plates and even more so as there are multiples.
While TV Limoges plates similar in form (but with holly or fish designs) appear on replacement china sites, this pattern is not cataloged in many of the sites researched. Very light to no wear on the plate faces, expected antique wear. IF YOU ARE INTERESTED IN 2 OR MORE SETS OF 4, PLEASE CONTACT ME FOR A DISCOUNTED PRICE.
