C1901 LIMOGES FRANCE HAND PAINTED VIOLETS by M. B. BARLOW Signed 60 Pcs China Set

We are pleased to offer for your consideration a fabulous and extremely rare from the year 1901. Antique Signed by the Artist with the date 1901. HAND PAINTED PURPLE VIOLETS FLORAL CHINA SERVICE.

Features a whimsically carved ribbed Limoges Porcelain Tea set decorated with romantic Victorian Violets cascading bouquets expertly hand painted by the talented china painting artist on a snow-white ground surrounded with butter-yellow field, gold-gilded finials-handles on the lids of tea pot and sugar, as well as gold accents at the scalloped edges... This is complete tea set for 9 person + a few extra plates, bowls and saucers. A Decorator's mark with the Date 1901 is Hand Written in Blue on the bottom of each pice: M. BARLOW (May Belle Barlow), only few pieces don't have artists name and date, likely gone with time. The signature of the artist on the tea pot: MAY BELLE BARLOW.

The round Bowl bears also underglase mark in Green on reverse : S&S underlined with L under the line then FRANCE. This hallmark used between 1884 and very early 1900s. Mark only on the bottom of the round bowl with sleek, not scalloped edge as other pieces in this set have, but this bowl was hand painted, hand signed in the same year - dated 1901 by the same artist M. Barlow - as a proof that all 60 pieces were manufactured in. Limoges France in the same place and the same date.

Note: all pieces have the same color, some difference in color on the pictures depends of lighting and camera flashes: on one side may be a little bit lighter, on the other side-a bit darker... 12 plates measuring 7 5/8 across. 12 plates measuring 5 7/8 across. 12 small bowls, 5 3/8" across x 1" tall. 11 saucers, 5 1/2 across.

9 cups measuring 3 5/8" across the top, 2" tall, 1 34 across the bottom. With sleek (not scalloped) edge. 6 14" across the top, 2 7.8" - 3" tall, 3 1/4" across the bottom. 1 two-handle bowl measuring: 8 1/8" handle to handle, 2 3/8" tall, 7 1/2" x 6 1/4" - opening.

1 Two-Handle Sugar with Lid measuring: 6" tall with lid, 5 1/4" tall without lid, 5 3/4" wide handle to handle, 3 1/4" across the opening, 3 1/2 across the bottom. 1 Creamer, 5 1/2" tall, 4 3/4" across the top, handle to spout, 2 1/2 across the bottom.

1 Tea Pot measuring: 8 1/2 tall with lid, 7 1/8" tall without lid, 8 1/4" wide, handle to handle, 4" across the opening, 3 5/8" across the bottom. Condition Report: RARE excellent condition for 117 years old survived china set! Unbelievable But There Are No Chips, Cracks, Paint Flakes or Crazing. Could Possibly Have Some Very-Very Minor Wear to the gold and pattern and probably some minor scuffs which are not noticeable...
