These beautiful antique plates are intricately and expertly crafted and detailed. Each plate is made of soft paste porcelain and is hand-painted with a regal cobalt blue border accented with thin outer and inner gilt borders. The pièce de résistance of this set are the lovely hand-painted depictions of fruits in the center of each plate. The paintings are colorful and well-executed and include depictions of. Grapes, plums, blueberries, and raspberries over a parcel gilt background.

The paintings are the work of a highly-talented and skilled porcelain decorator at Limoges. The pieces are marked on the back "LP 1888" (Limoges Porcelaine). The set presents beautifully and is in very good antique condition, with very minor surface wear and patina, and minimal loss to gilding commensurate with age.

This elegant and gracious set of plates will make a fine addition to any antique European Victorian porcelain collection. Dimensions/ea: 8-3/8" diameter, 7/8" in height.
