Offered for sale is a stunning lot of (7) antique plates. By Coronet of Limoges, France during the early 1900s. Feature hand-painted fish, signed by artist Bardy, in a naturalistic setting and the rims feature an embossed design with gold gilt accents. Plates measure 8 3/4 in diameter.
And they are marked with three stamps on the back. The first mark is the George Borgfeldt, Coronet Limoges France crown. The second mark is Made in France for the Sevres National Art Association overglaze. The third mark is the P.
Of the seven plates three feature a similar design with a fish swimming to the left, three feature a similar design with a fish swimming to the right, and the last one features a different fish swimming to the right. If interested I have the matching platter and sauce boat as well.
Overall condition of the plates is excellent. Chips, cracks, or repaired areas other than two which have small chips to the interior of the foot rims. These were well cared for and display. The hand-painted designs and gold gilt accents are nearly 100% intact with some minor rubbing and wear.I see minimal to no utensil marks or scratches to the surfaces. And the trademarks on the back.
