14 French Limoges Hand Painted Porcelain Plate Charger Lotus Flowers Gold Trim

Fabulous French Limoges porcelain large charger plate finely hand painted in vibrant colors with a scene of gladiolus flowers and lotus. Comprising of an unusual green blue color terminating to a shade of dark green teal. The scene comprises of a sea of lotus flowers floating along a calm water surface enhanced in gold gilt painted accents. In the distance is a flock of birds flying above the water scene, also painted in gold gilt. The background colors compliment the central theme of the plate, with green hues providing beautiful contrast to the pinks and purples, and convey a lovely soothing ambiance.

Encompassing the left side of the plate is a large arrangement of brightly colored gladiolus flowers in varying degrees of bloom. With petals in vibrant shades purple, from eggplant to violet and hints of lavender, juxtaposed with fuchsia and cranberry with hints of pink. Embellished in raised enamel accents.

The attention to detail and fine execution of the floral still life is phenomenal. Overall exquisite and beautifully hand painted. In good antique to vintage condition, no chips or cracks, some inconspicuous paint-loss to the raised white enamel on the flowers. Marked Limoges over France, in use after 1891.
